Family and friends can be so cruel sometimes.....

Have you ever had someone send you one of those forward emails, that seem innocent enough, and have you watch the screen intensly, thinking your going to be seeing something real cool and interesting, but instead a scary face suddenly pops up and scares the Sh** out of you??

Little Job of Horrors

So, i'm going to be VERY broke the next couple weeks. turns out i used more vacation/sick time then ive earned for the year (because of me and the kids being sick, didnt even get to use for a real vacation :-( )

Because of this, my next paycheck, they will be taking out 50 HOURS out of my pay >:-(

I tried talking to corporate office, asking if there was any exceptiong that could be made, i dunno, maybe that ive been here for 7 years, worked my ass off, NEVER got any bonus', AND i gave the proper 2 weeks notice when i COULD have just left them high and dry (most of the field guys don't give notice).

So pretty much that means, all of the work i am doing this week, I AM DOING FOR FREE!!!! needless to say, i havent been giving it my "all" the past couple days. Why should I?

Yeah, it's "company policy" but damn if they havent turned their heads for other situations and other employees. I've given this company so much. not anymore. nope!

1 week and 2 days left AND COUNTING!!!!

I did it

I gave my 2 weeks notice. Only one of the boss' was in today, and it was the NICE one, thank goodness. he was very understanding, and very nice about it. He said he wished he had the opportunity to try to talk me out of it, and keep me here, but i had told him it was not about the money, but about the opportunity.
the EASY part was taken care of. Tomorrow, i meet the wrath!!! yup, the "Other" boss will not take it as well as this boss did. that i know.
oh well. :-)

De'von's School Play/Musical

he did great!! i got mostly video, but i also got a few pictures. unfortunately, the camera is still new to me, and i didnt know how to mess with the settings for picture taking, so the pictures didnt come out that great. i had to lighten them alot. nothing much to report, so i will just report random stuff.

Thursday- De'von has a play. i will make sure to post pics and video of it.

Friday- i have decided i am calling out for good friday, and stacy and i are going to see "Shutter"

Saturday- probably just clean up, and put our closets back together (we had to empty both our closets so verizon could install FIO in all the apts. now we have tons of storage lying around the house.)

Sunday- EASTER. Dinner at dads

Monday- The day i GIVE MY 2 WEEKS NOTICE!!!!!



APRIL IS AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH

ok, more details about the job

I start April 7th. I will be doing somewhat similar to what i'm doing now. I will be using Autocad AND Photoshop. It is a temp job (i believe for 2-3 months). After the temp period, i get their benefits, which are REALLY good benefits compared to this craphole i'm in now. I will be getting $1 more an hr then i make at current job, but after the temp is up, that is likely to go up.

Richard is SUPER excited for me. He wishes he could give his 2weeks too. I will have to get temporary insurance until my temp time is up, hopefully it won't be TOO expensive...but at least its only for a couple months.

The company seems like a really nice and laid back company. i got a very good vibe from the place. and its not too much further away, its about 10mins down rte 130 north (in Dayton).

My stomach already has butterflies. i'm very nervous about starting another job. i will have been at this job 7 years in May.

still no word yet....

Temp agency hasnt called back today.....but i'm still feeling confident.

to those who DON'T know, I got a call from the temp agency yesterday, and she said that they were VERY impressed with me, and only had one concern. which was if i was willing to work with autocad as well (since they knew how ive been looking for a photoshop position). so they asked her to find out if i would be comfortable using autocad sometimes too.
i told her YES DEFINETLY!!! she said that they really like me, and that they are going to get together tomorrow (which is now Today)to discuss. she said it sounded more positive that they WILL want to hire me, then not.

i will give it a couple days, then call if i still hear no word.

How the Job interview went

well, i was VERY nervous. for over an hour, i practiced what i would say when they asked the question "why do you want this position". over and over and over again. i called stacy right before going inside for the interview, and decided to test that answer with her (and kelly, cuz stacy had me on speaker)
sure enough, i kept messing up with the answer. then they both told me when i finally did get it right, that it really did sound too rehearsed. all that practice and memorizing for nothing, lol. They were right.
i just had to go with the flow.
i get inside, and the admin brings me in the confrence room. i'm actually pretty suprised by the look of the place. I was expecting it to look very hi-tech because of the kind of work that they do.

The place actually looked very rundown. the leather on the confrence chairs were all peeling, and worn. BUT, it was actually kind of "homey" in a way.

finally, the interviewers came in. there were 4 of them. 2 managers, a cad guy, and one of the owners. yeah, i'm really nervous now. i have to impress 4 men now.

They were actually very friendly, and laid back. joked alot, which helped me feel more comfortable.
I found out i would be doing Cadd along with doing photoshop (which i would be fine with). they told me there is lots of room for growth in the design field (i expressed my love for design, photoshop, ect).
If i get the position, it would mainly consist of CAD, but there will also be alot of photoshop projects.
Also, the benefits.....wow!! they said they have GREAT benefits. they only pay about $40 every other week for an ENTIRE FAMILY!! At my job now, I would have to pay close to $200 every other week for an entire family.

They also told me they are very easy going. i could pretty much choose what hours i wanted to work (ie: if i wanted to come in at 7am, i could, and if i wanted to come in at 9am i could). They are very understanding about appts and such, so i would have no problem if i had to take the kids to the drs.

Overall, i think the interview went very well. I know my nervousness showed, but i think they understood. This job really does seem perfect for me.
so now i wait. i'm sending a 'thank you" letter today, and if i don't hear in a week , ill call.
but, it felt very promising.

PHOTOSHOP JOB UPDATE

I got a call today, and the employer would like me to do an interview. It's on Tuesday at around 1:30pm.

i'm nervous and excited. i worry that i'll really like the job, and then have to worry about taking that risk of going for it, and having to pay insurance, and wondering if i'll go permenant.....

or what if i DO go for it, and hate it, and end up being jobless....

ahhhh, i'm so nervous and its still a few days away.

About the Hot wheels car

Sick sick sick!! been sick for 2 weeks now. hopefully it will be over soon.

to those of you who are curious as to why i used the blog title "its my hot wheel's hot rod car", well, the only other person who would know would be karen. when we were little, "we" had this certain hot wheels car (exactly like one pictured). the back wheels raised up and down. for years we "argued" over who's car it was. i was 100% sure it was/is mine, and she was 100% sure it was her's.

well, just to let you all know (especially you karen). i have that car RIGHT in front of me. so it IS mine :-p

what's funny is that 2 days after i created and named this blog, i found that car we argued for years over, lol.
